(UPDATE) Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas successfully defended his International Boxing Federation junior bantamweight title by stopping Teiru Kinoshita of Japan in the 7th round in the main supporting bout of the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight in Brisbane, Australia.

The Panabo City native patiently pried open the Japanese’s defense in the early round until he connected a crushing right hand to the body that sent Kinoshita to his knees at a packed Suncorp Stadium.

It was Ancajas' second title defense since wresting the crown from McJoe Arroyo of Puerto Rico in September 2016 in Taguig City. He successfully defended his belt in January by forcing Jose Alfredo Rodriguez of Mexico to retire in 8 rounds in China.

Ancajas started out slow in the opening rounds, feeling out his foe first. In the third round, he was able to cut Kinoshita's right eye with a series of stinging lefts.

By the 6th, Kinoshita was virtually fighting with only one eye as his right eye was already closed. This forced him to brawl with the Filipino.

Ancajas saw this as a perfect opportunity to unload the right hook to the body that doubled Kinoshita over.

The Japanese was still able to beat the count, but the referee saw him unfit to continue and handed the technical knockout victory to Ancajas 1:53 in the 7th.

Ancajas now has 27 wins, a loss and a draw, while Kinoshita dropped to 25-2-1.

In the undercard, Pacquiao's cousin Jonel Dapidran lost via unanimous decision against Australia's Brent Dames.

Dames had it 58-56, 58-56, 59-55 against Dapidran in the junior welterweight match.
