BINI, the nation’s girl group, is gearing up for more milestones to mark this year. The octet are taking center stage with their solo concert “BINIverse,” which will add up to their achievements as another first. BINIs Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Jhoanna, Mikha, Maloi, Sheena, and Stacey are expected to empower the audience with amazing performances in the upcoming production.

“The concert? Siyempre, malaking pressure because BINI ’to, ’di ba? They’re a big group talaga ngayon in OPM—not just in the world of P-pop pero sa OPM talaga,” “BINIverse” production manager Macoy Infante shared with Metro.Style in an exclusive sit-down talk. During one of the rehearsals, he opened up that while there is pressure, he is eager and prepared to take on the job.

Moreover, BINI’s road manager Maan Manauis updated us on what the must-see concert will feature. “Ngayon kasi, siyempre happy kami na ganito na ’yung fan base—’yung mga nanonood sa girls. Kasi ito naman talaga ’yung pangarap ng lahat, hindi lang ng BINI kundi pangarap din namin para sa mga bagets.”

To further BINI’s reach, a regional tour is happening, too, apart from the main shows at the New Frontier Theater on June 28, 29, and 30. Their next shows are scheduled on July 6 (Baguio City), July 14 (Cebu City), and July 20 (General Santos City). The P-pop powerhouse will storm the global stage as well with their overseas tour in the United States and Canada.

Taking pride in BINI’s transition from adolescence to adulthood, he declared: “They have eight different characters and I think now, more than before, people see who they are individually. So the growth that they made, it’s not just for performance and not just being confident but also individual.”

As to how he choreographs the dance numbers for “BINIverse,” Mickey noted: “I have a team because I strongly believe that if I do everything creatively, it’s not good and they won’t grow.”

“If we do choreography, the way we teach them is it’s either one coach is assigned or another coach is assigned. We are mixing it so everyone has a different take on choreography, because I think it’s better that it creates a variety of the way you attack to dance and everyone’s music is a bit different.”

Meanwhile, as much as BINI members train hard, their back-up dancers are bound to deliver the same dance energy at the three-night sold-out events.
