Belle Mariano sashayed into the international spotlight as she accepted her award at the Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) at the KBS Hall in Seoul on September 22, 2022.

Out of 175 nominated names across the Asian arena, only five recipients are entitled to the recognition. Belle is the first woman from the Philippines to have won the prestigious title. Her talent and performance in the teen-oriented television series He’s Into Her (HIH) steered her acknowledgement abroad.

Alongside the 20-year-old actress are four other fine talents including China’s Wallace Chung, Japan’s Yusei Yagi, Taiwan’s Alice Ko, and Thailand’s Krit Amnuaydechkorn. It was a toast to success as Belle adds to the slate of Filipino personalities who have fared in the SDA in the past. The same prize were also received by actors Dennis Trillo (2016), Gabby Concepcion (2017), Alden Richards (2019), and Dingdong Dantes (2020), but Belle is the first Filipina in this roster.

To honor Belle, her ABS-CBN artist management arm Star Magic posted a series of snaps of the program, which was held in Seoul, South Korea. The Kapamilya celebrity was joined by ABS-CBN’s Head of International Production Ruel Bayani and Rise Artists Studio’s Head Mico Del Rosario. Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega, the Philippine Ambassador to South Korea, was also in attendance.

Belle’s acceptance speech bears the introduction below: “Good evening, everyone. I am Belle Mariano, and I am a proud Filipino.” She also shared her success with her screen partner, Donny Pangilinan, and thanked the people behind her back: her managers and mentors and the clever creatives of HIH. As her message drew to a close, she decorated her mother. “To the woman who molded me to the woman I am today, my mother, thank you so much. I love you.”
