BUSTOS, Bulacan (2nd UPDATE) – A rubber gate of Bustos Dam was damaged on May 1, resulting in possible rise in river water level and warnings for residents in low-lying areas near the riverbanks.
Mayor Francis Albert Juan issued an advisory via Facebook, alerting residents of the possible rise in water levels due to the damage and urging immediate evacuation.
"LAHAT po ng nasa tabing ilog ay pinapaalalahanan na maging alerto at pumunta na po sa mataas na lugar. Nasira po ang isang rubber gate sa Bustos Dam. Lalong-lalo na po ang mga nakatira po sa tabing-ilog sa mga barangay ng Tanawan, San Pedro, Poblacion, Talampas, at Cambaog," Juan said.

“Ito ay patungkol sa biglaang pagsingaw ng Rubber Gate 3 ng Bustos Dam ngayong araw, Mayo 1, 2025 bandang 2:30 ng hapon dahil sa sobrang init ng panahon. Kaugnay nito biglaang tumapon ang tubig sa loob ng Dam sa nasabing Gate 3, datapwat ito ay hindi dapat ikabahala dahil ang Gate 3 ay isang maliit lamang na bukasan at ang mababawas lamang sa lebel ng tubig ay 2.38 mts. Dahil sa oras na nabanggit na insidente ang lebel ng tubig sa loob ng Bustos Dam ay 17.38 mts. Lang,” the PDRRMO said in a statement.
