Slovak woman found dead at abandoned chapel in Boracay

MANILA — Police on Wednesday discovered the body of a missing Slovak national at an abandoned chapel in Boracay, Malay, Aklan province.

According to a report from the Western Visayas police, the victim was identified as Michaela Mickova, 23, who had been staying temporarily at a resort on Boracay Island, a popular tourist destination for foreigners.

Her body was found around 2 p.m. in the abandoned chapel, decomposing and found without her lower garments.

Mickova, who was last seen on Boracay Island, had been reported missing by a Filipina friend on Monday, who also offered a P50,000 reward for information.

The Malay Municipal Police Station is investigating the incident and coordinating with the Slovakian Embassy.
