MANILA -- Several senatorial candidates supported by former president Rodrigo Duterte campaigned in vote-rich Quezon City Sunday, May 4 a week ahead of the May 12 polls.

The 10 senatorial bets dubbed as “DuterTEN” joined a campaign rally of congressional bet Bong Suntay.

They include Atty. Jimmy Bondoc, Doc Richard Mata, Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Atty. Raul Lambino, Senators Ronald Dela Rosa and Bong Go, Philip Salvador, Atty. Jayvee Hinlo and Rep. Rodante Marcoleta.

Atty. Israelito Torreon spoke on behalf of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

Most of their speeches centered on lambasting the arrest of Duterte and appealed to voters to vote straight.

Some of them also criticized the Marcos administration, including the P20 rice program.

Dela Rosa once again defended the bloody war on drugs of the Duterte administration during his stint as the country’s top cop.

He claimed the drug war was aimed at saving the youth from illegal drugs and the country from becoming a narco state.

“Ito ay destiny natin. Si Lord ang may kagustuhan nito dahil may misyon tayo sa mundo at ‘yun ay puksain ang droga at korapsyon,” he said recalling Duterte’s words.

Most of them also performed in front of the audience either by dancing or singing.
