MANILA — The Supreme Court has directed retired Court of Appeals Associate Justice Isaias Dicdican to file an answer to the gross misconduct charge he is facing for his alleged involvement in the murder of Atty. Joey Luis Wee.

Wee was shot and killed on November 23, 2020 at the ground floor of the building where his law office was located in Cebu City, the SC noted.

“The SC directed Justice Dicdican to file an answer within a non-extendible period of 10 days from notice,” said SC Spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting.

The court order came after the memorandum of Court Administrator Raul Villanueva dated March 25, 2025, formally charging Dicdican with gross misconduct for his alleged involvement in the murder.

The court noted that the case has been endorsed by the National Bureau of Investigation to the Cebu City Prosecution office and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

“This is an admin case, so he is still a member of the bar, the ultimate penalty is disbarment,” Ting said.

Ting added that Dicdican’s pension may be forfeited, if he is found administratively liable.
