Resources of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation could reach as high as P755 billion this year, a Department of Health spokesperson said Thursday.

Asec. Albert Domingo said the resources include P150 billion in surplus funds, P280 billion in reserves and P203 billion in direct contributions to be collected this 2025.

Other resources include an P80 billion unfunded allotment, a P21 billion unreleased appropriation that was supposed to come from PCSO and Pagcor as mandated by the Universal Healthcare Law, and P21 billion in investment income.

“Kapag dinagdag lahat ng numero, nasa P755 billion,” he said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.

He added PhilHealth still has P80.6 billion in payables to different hospitals, including P21 billion in “good claims” to be released in the coming months.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier ordered the Department of Health to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of PhilHeath benefits, saying the agency's zero government subsidy for this year "should not affect the delivery of healthcare services."

Lawmakers at the bicameral conference committee last month stripped government subsidy for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation in the 2025 national budget.
