MANILA — A “big-time” rollback on fuel prices awaits motorists on Holy Week, the Department of Energy said Friday.

“Base sa 4 na araw na monitoring, sure na may big-time rollback for next week,” Department of Energy Assistant Director Rodela Romero told TeleRadyo Serbisyo.

She said oil prices were expected to drop by the following amounts next week.

  • Gasoline: P3.30 to P3.75 per liter
  • Diesel: P2.90 to P3.40 per liter
  • Kerosene: P3.40 to P3.50 per liter

Romero said fuel prices were being driven down by the escalating US-China trade tension that triggered recession fears.

She also noted that Saudi Arabia was expected to slash fuel price cuts while the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was set to boost production.
