Days after inspecting the Common Station, the construction of which has been stalled since August 2024, Transport Sec. Vince Dizon said the DOTr now plans to terminate the contract of private builder BF Corp — a firm founded by the late Marikina Mayor Bayani Fernando.

In February 2019, the DOTr said the common station would open in 2022. The opening was later pushed back to May 2023 as the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdowns halted construction.
