MANILA -- Minimum wage earners and kasambahays in the Bicol Region and Zamboanga Peninsula are getting a salary increase.

In a statement, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said the minimum wage in Bicol will be at P435 from P395. The wage hike will be implemented in two tranches: on April 5 and December 1, 2025.

The DOLE said about 100,414 minimum wage earners will benefit from the pay increase.

Meanwhile, kasambahays in Bicol will receive a P1,000 monthly salary increase, bringing their pay to P6,000. Their salary increase will also take effect on April 5.

In the Zamboanga Peninsula, kaasambahays are getting their monthly salaries increased by P900 starting April 3.

This means household workers in chartered cities and first class municipalities get P5,500 monthly, while those in other municipalities get P5,000. There are about 18,984 kasambahays in Zamboanga Peninsula.

DOLE said the wage hikes reflect the government's efforts to review regional minimum wage rates to reduce uncertainty, enhance fairness for all stakeholders, and foster a stronger link between productivity and wages.
