MANILA -- Robinsons Hotels and Resorts is building a new hotel in Panglao, Bohol.

In a statement, Robinsons Land Corporation said Grand Summit Panglao will have more than 200 room keys and will be located on the beachfront.

The hotel will have a pool, Filipino and specialty restaurants, a spa, a gym, and a ballroom.

Robinsons Hotels Senior Vice President Barun Jolly said the company is excited to bring more tourists into Bohol as the tourism sector calls for a "quality upscale hotel brand" in the area.

Robinsons Hotels Vice President Annalyn Yap also said the company wants to create more jobs in the area with the hotel's opening. The company also said it wants to open more hotels in Pangasinan and Cebu. 

The Philippines' first Grand Summit Hotel is located in General Santos. Aside from the Grand Summit Hotel, Robinsons Hotels also owns the Go Hotel and Summit Hotel brands. 

It also handles Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Holiday Inn Manila Galleria, and The Westin Manila. 

Robinsons Land domestic net income jumps 71 pct from January to June
