MANILA — A low pressure area (LPA) that formed east of Mindanao outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) early Sunday now has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.

The LPA may enter the PAR late Sunday or early Monday and will be assigned the local name Marce, said PAGASA.
