MANILA -- Former President Rodrigo Duterte was happy to learn of his reelection as mayor of Davao City.

According to his youngest brother, Bong Duterte, who visited him in detention at The Hague, the former President was glad to hear the news.

The Davao election board has already proclaimed Duterte as the winner of the mayoral race, with the official tally showing that he garnered over 660,000 votes.

Bong said he will stay in the Netherlands to look over his brother, who has been jailed by the International Criminal Court due to crimes to humanity. His case is related to extra judicial killings in connection to his administration's "war on drugs."

Regarding the results of the "Duter10"—a group of allied candidates—Bong expressed his disappointment that only five out of ten were elected, but he remained optimistic about the possibility of electoral protests. He chose to leave further comments to Vice President Sara Duterte.
