Handout/PAGASAMANILA (UPDATED) -- The low pressure area approaching the Philippine area of responsibility has become a tropical depression.

PAGASA said the tropical depression was located 1,255 km east of southeastern Luzon, outside the Philippine area of responsibility at 10 p.m. Sunday.

The tropical depression may enter the PAR early Monday and will be named Kristine.

The tropical depression will bring moderate to heavy rains beginning Sunday evening in Quezon, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.
