MANILA (UPDATE)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday ordered the military to "destroy" the Communist Party of the Philippines.

Speaking before soldiers of the 10th Infantry Division in Compostela Valley, Duterte said he will "assume full responsibility" should cases of human rights violation be filed against him.

"You have to destroy them. Destroy them, wala namang maniwala na human rights (no human rights commission will believe). I assume full responsibility. Kita niyo, ako lang dinedemanda ng mga g*** (I'm the only one being sued)," he said.

"We do not subscribe to their ceasefire. Do not fight them, destroy them, kill them. Basta (just) destroy them. Sino nag-utos? Ako po. Magyabang tayo minsan. Si five-star lang. (Who gave the order? I did. Let's boast sometimes. Just the five-star [general].)"

Duterte added that he will gladly go to prison if found guilty.

"The presidency is a gift from God. Kilala naman ninyo ako (You know me). My gift to you, Filipinos, my freedom. 'Pag ako ang sinabing may kasalanan, aminin ko lahat 'yan at ako ay makulong (If I'm found guilty, I will admit to all of it and go to prison). OK lang (It's OK). It will be an honor to go to prison for the Philippines," he said.

The President is currently facing complaints before the International Criminal Court over his war on drugs and his supposed role in the alleged death-squad killings in Davao City, where he ruled as mayor for more than 2 decades.

Duterte urged soldiers to draw their firearms first in a battle.

"You need not see a gun pero kung sa harap mo bumunot, in the traditional sense na gustong bunutin, bumunot ka na rin. 'Pag nagkamali tayo takbo ka d'yan sa kampo sa loob, 'wag ka nang lumabas," he said.

(You need not see a gun but if they draw [a firearm] in front of you, in the traditional sense that they're going to draw something, draw your firearm, too. If you make a mistake, run back to the camp and don't come out again.)

"Pero the overt act, even in America, nakapagsunduan du'n sa chief of police, 'wag kayo maniwala sa mga human rights, inutil 'yang mga p*****-*** . Wala namang utak 'yan . . . Self-preservation 'yan. We live in an abnormal time."

(The overt act, even in America, it was agreed with the chief of police, don't believe in human rights, they are useless. They have no brains. That's self-preservation. We live in an abnormal time.)

Duterte also took a swipe at CPP founding chairman Jose Ma. Sison.

"We will go back to a sort of a 'hamletting.' That idea was intended for them, na habang sana may usap, d'yan sila sa (while we are talking, they are there) hamletting, we will feed them, I will pay for the billeting of their leaders habang nag-uusap (while we're talking)," he said.

"Sixty days would be good, itong mga bakla, p*****-***. Itong si Sison akala mo gwapo (Sison thinks he's handsome). Hindi na nahiya sa sarili niya (He's not ashamed of himself). Sabi ko, makita ko 'yan d'yan sa airport, sampalin ko 'yan p*****-*** na 'yan. Kala mo sino (I said if I see him at the airport, I will slap him. He's full of himself)," he said.

Duterte recently ordered the creation of a national task force that will seek to “end” the armed conflict with communist rebels.

Peace negotiations between the government and communist rebels have been on and off under Duterte. Another resumption was scheduled in late June but it was cancelled as the government sought to review all agreements entered into by the communists with past administrations.

Duterte led the Christmas gift-giving to soldiers and assured better lives for them and their families.

"All soldiers, 'pag namatay, automatic ang inyong pamilya may bahay (All soldiers, if they die, your family will automatically receive a house). There will be scholarship. You will just wait. We are negotiating," he said.

"You will have a property of almost three-fourths of the Aguinaldo, I will give it to the Armed Forces not for sale. 'Yan ang iwan ko sa inyo, na may pera talaga kayo (That is what I'll leave to you so you can have money)." — With a report from Hernel Tocmo, ABS-CBN News
