MANILA - Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto revealed on Monday that the mayor’s office has been stripped of appliances and equipment like computers.

“Siguro personal property nung dating mayor 'yun so pwede na ding tanggalin. Wala namang problema yun,” he said.

(Maybe that’s the personal property of the previous mayor so they can remove it. I have no problem with that.)

Although the rooms still have desks and chairs, Sotto said, “Pero wala pa kaming mga gamit. Wala pa kaming computers so please bear with us.” (But we don’t have equipment. We don’t have computers so please bear with us.)

Nevertheless, Sotto took it lightly, saying that it is previous Mayor Robert 'Bobby' Eusebio's right to remove his personal property.

The Eusebio dynasty ruled Pasig City for 27 years.

In one of the rooms, several cables were left hanging from a case that might have housed a large monitor.

None of the rooms have computers.

“First time kong makapasok sa pinakaloob ng mayor’s office. Para siyang maze,” Sotto said. “Napakarami pang kwarto dyan sa loob. Napakaraming conference rooms at meeting rooms.”

(It’s my first time to enter the inner rooms of the mayor’s office. It’s like a maze. There are so many rooms inside. So many conference rooms and meeting rooms.)

“Kahit wala na po lahat ng gamit, napaka-lavish. Magarbo po talaga,” he said.

(Even if many things were removed from the rooms, they still looked lavish. Really grand.)

One room had a long table made of expensive-looking wood.

“But if you compare it to the other offices here in the 8th floor na hindi pantay-pantay yung tiles, sira yung aircon and hindi maganda ang gamit,” he said. “I think that’s one of the things that we will change.”

(But if you compare it to the other offices here in the 8th floor where the tiles are not even, the aircon is defective and the pieces of furniture aren't nice.)

“We will take care of the entire city hall and the whole bureaucracy. Hindi lang yung nasa mayor’s office (not just the mayor’s office),” he said.

Sotto said the budget for 2020 will be focused on servicing the people and not the mayor’s office.
