MANILA--Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Friday offered an updated glimpse of the ongoing renovation of the Lagusnilad Underpass.

The new underpass, located in front of the Manila City Hall, features vertical gardens and decorative stone walls.

"May krisis man o wala, tuloy ang gobyerno. Soon, we will unveil the new Lagusnilad Underpass," he wrote on Facebook.

"Mayroon na po itong vertical gardens, kaakibat po ng ating adhikain tungo sa malinis, panatag at maaliwalas na Maynila."

Moreno earlier vowed to clean up the Philippine capital and restore it to its former glory.

In July, he removed all stalls operating in the underground walkway. A few months later, an art group vandalized the underpass, which Moreno condemned.
