Cops and officials from the Department of Energy raided a butane refilling plant, in Talisay City, Cebu Friday dawn.

Around 11,000 butane canisters that were illegally refilled inside the plant were confiscated through a search warrant issued by Judge Jerry Dicdican of Regional Trial Court Branch 25 against Jane Dela Cerna Reales who was not around when the operation was conducted.

Nine workers, including two minors, told officials that they were paid 12 centavos per refilled butane canister.

A two-week surveillance was conducted prior to the operation, Supt. Royina Garma, CIDG-7 Acting Regional Director, said.

The plant failed to meet the standard compliance certificate set by the government, Atty. Russ Gamalo, DOE Legal Officer, said.

Reales is expected to be charged with violations of laws protecting petroleum products, and child labor.
