(UPDATED) An allegedly heartbroken student of De La Salle University (DLSU) in Dasmarinas, Cavite died after jumping off the school's grandstand Wednesday, police said.

Authorities discovered the body of the victim, a 17-year-old engineering student, at the grandstand grounds around 5:50 a.m.

Investigators said the victim may have been emotionally depressed possible due to conflict in his love life.

The victim died due to head fracture and body trauma.

Police said the victim's family signed a waiver to forego an autopsy on the remains of the victims. They also refused any police investigation, discounting any foul play in the incident.

Meanwhile, a group in the Philippines is dedicated to addressing those who have suicidal tendencies.
