MANILA - A commuter has sought help from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) after falling prey to an abusive taxi driver who allegedly conspired with an airport barker.

Complainant Mark Kevin Tumale said Friday that a barker at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) flagged down a taxi of MAHK Transportation for him and his pregnant cousin last January 25.

The driver allegedly told Tumale that his taxi meter is odd and charges P30 for every kilometer.

Because of the sensitive pregnancy of his cousin, Tumale accepted the fare rate.

The driver allegedly charged his passengers P1,980 for the 6.6-kilometer ride. Tumale, who only had P1,400 cash, came short of the fare.

The driver then forcibly took the iPhone 5s of Tumale's cousin, which costs P22,000, before ordering the passengers out of the car.

MAHK Transportation operator Merly Fukuda presented the supposed driver, Jeric Rosales, before the LTFRB
