This year's Met Gala has got to be one of the most remarkable yet. With its theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style", the tailoring and dandy style statements were expected. The A-list celebrities truly delivered, with unique interpretations of the theme seen in impeccable silhouettes, creative suits and blazers, the finest hats, ties, jewelry, and other accessories.

But we beauty girls had to sit up and pay attention to one hair trend that truly ruled the night: larger than life hairstyles that brought amazing energy to the black dandy statements.

Another lady who went all out on the afro train is singer Doja Cat, who did a playful take on the look with layers of different colored hair. Another rapper who understood the assignment and embraced her natural hair texture was Cardi B, who rocked an '80s Diana Ross-inspired look. Lizzo, on the other hand, rocked her tuxedo-inspired gown by complementing it with platinum blonde locks, volumized to perfection. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion not only rocked her bejeweled gown, she did so by slaying the carpet as a redhead, styled into an oversized updo with "levels", and a thick ponytail that cascaded down her back. Last but definitely not least was actress Tessa Thompson, who slayed in a meticulously shaped voluminous bob under a top hat.
