For an awesome school year ahead, join this conversation with Francine Diaz, Raven Rigor, and Sean Tristan as they share their fun and inspiring ‘buhay-estudyante’ stories.

The smell of new books, the ‘baon’, and reuniting with old classmates and meeting new ones – these are just some of the many things that students look forward to about being back in school.

The trio, whom we last saw on primetime via Dirty Linen, can sure relate to these, as they are currently enrolled as working students. Francine studies in an international school, a dream which she never expected to happen. She remembers the time when she had to stop schooling due to their family’s financial setbacks. And now that she’s on a prestigious campus, she promises to make the most of her opportunity to learn and grow.

She said that studying isn’t just about having a diploma that she could be proud of, rather it’s about expanding her knowledge. For her, knowledge makes her feel powerful.

Apart from working on her own dreams as a student, she also helps send her siblings to school.

Meanwhile, Sean started taking up a film course even before he got into showbiz, which goes to show that entertainment and filmmaking are truly his passions. He’s currently taking his classes online, that’s why he misses the intense grind of regular schooling, those days when he had to wake up at four in the morning and travel from his home in Cavite to his school in Alabang, then attend extra-curricular activities like student council and sports after dismissal.

Raven was once a busy student too. He used to be actively involved in quiz bees, student council, and varsity teams. Currently, his school allows him to take up his classes online, while his other classmates have gone back to a face-to-face setup.

Of course, students get excited about their ‘baon,’ whether that be homecooked meals or money allowance. Momshies Regine, Jolina, and Melai reminisced about going to school with only a 25-centavo or one-peso allowance. You sure can relate to Jolina’s ‘kwento’ about saving up her ‘baon’ to buy 'kikay' stuff – specifically those nice-smelling erasers – after school.

What’s your back-to-school ‘kwento’, Kapamilya? Join the conversation by tuning in to this episode of Magandang Buhay The Podcast.
