This Beautiful Couple Got Married In Captivating Filipino Designer Looks

Filipina-Irish model Siobhan Moylan is no stranger to being dressed in designer. But for her wedding day, she—along with her groom, Christian Tantoco—goes local.

Like all wedding dresses, Siobhan’s gown was a remarkable sight. Made by Carl Jan Cruz, the bride was dressed in the designer’s signature fashion, with an experimental feel of threads woven across a seemingly raw, off-white fabric and pearls beaded across the bodice. A fresh, natural look, Siobhan added an extra bohemian-like touch with a beaded veil wrapped delicately around her head, cascading down her back. Topping off the look were her silver heels—the “Hiling Slingback” pair from Jos Mundo, adding another tropical flair with its capiz and black lip shell ornaments.

For the groom, Christian was also dressed in Carl Jan Cruz. Classic to traditional Filipino fashion, he was dressed in an abaca-piña-mix barong. But take a zoom-in to see the subtle yet thoughtful flair added by the designer. From the curved panels on his trousers to the textural feel of the raised threads and satin stitch embroidery decorating the top, the look was understated and traditional, yet contemporary with an experimental feel.

Styled by Mano Gonzales and Carla Villanueva, the stylists shared the process behind the couple’s looks as they worked closely with the designer’s team through a series of fittings, bringing to life Carl Jan Cruz’s vision of his “PangOkasyon” looks—as he puts it.
