"Our beloved Manay Lolit Solis has peacefully joined her Creator last July 3, 2025. Manay Lolit leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will always cherish her memory. We remember Manay Lolit as a feisty and staunch loyal supporter, manager and friend. We love you our dearest Manay, you will forever be in our hearts. Solis was one of the best known personalities in entertainment journalism. Before diving in the colorful world of showbiz industry, Solis was a police beat reporter.

Aside from being a celebrity columnist, she also hosted several talk shows on television.

Her career being a talent manager started in the '80s when she managed actor Gabby Concepcion. Some of the stars she managed were Ruffa Gutierrez, Nanette Medved, Tonton Gutierrez, Lorna Tolentino and Bong Revilla.

In 1994, Solis faced one of her biggest challenges, after she was involved in the controversial Metro Manila Film Festival scam, where she manipulated the results of two major awards.

In the past years, Solis regularly underwent dialysis after she was diagnosed with a kidney problem. She was also very open about her health condition and desire to recover from her illness through her social media updates.
