There are a lot of skin treatments out there, and sometimes, it’s hard to discern which ones are truly worth the investment. You don’t want to spend your hard-earned money and not get the results it promises. That’s why we’re here to investigate and personally try which trending treatments are right for you and a bang for your buck!

We sought the expertise of a skin clinic with a decade of experience under its belt: Skin 101. We tried one of their most popular treatments called Revlite. It’s a non-invasive and non-ablative laser treatment that targets skin tone correction, skin rejuvenation, and acne management so you’ll be hitting multiple birds with one stone with every session.

The way it works is it uses short, high-energy pulses to penetrate the skin and break up unwanted pigments to improve skin appearance. Through this, it also gently stimulates collagen production, which can help with the appearance of pores and make your skin appear firmer and rejuvenated.

What skin concerns can Revlite target?

According to the doctors at Skin 101, Revlite is a highly advanced Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that can improve skin tone and texture, remove fine lines and wrinkles, treat pigmented skin lesions and sun damage, get rid of acne scarring, or get an overall skin rejuvenation and resurfacing. It is also an effective method to treat melasma and improve pigmentation.

This laser treatment is for all skin types and can be used on the face, chest, neck, hands, and body.

Do’s and Don’ts for Revlite

The clinic suggests not applying any skincare for three days after the treatment, except for their post-laser cream and sunscreen. Also, try to avoid the pool or the beach immediately after the procedure.

How much is a session at Skin 101?

Since the optimum result can be achieved with multiple sessions—ideally every two weeks—for four to six sessions, Skin 101 suggests purchasing it in a bundle. Revlite is Php 15,000 for six sessions.

Final Thoughts

This treatment was highly recommended by my friends, so I had high hopes for it, and I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint. It has next to no downtime, and it doesn’t hurt as much as other skin-enhancing treatments that I’ve tried.

As with any treatment, you do need consistency with this. So, if you’re going in thinking one treatment will instantly fix your skin, it won’t. It’ll improve it, sure, but the every-two-weeks suggestion isn’t so much a suggestion as it is a requirement. On the upside, if you break down Skin 101’s Php 15,000 bundle for six sessions, it’s like paying Php 2,500 per session, which is not so bad if you compare it to the price of other treatments available today. You will get value for your money as you will get a facial and a laser treatment for that price.

Lastly, as for the results, I did see improvements in my skin texture, and it’s helped in fading my acne marks, so this has been a great addition to my skin treatment rotation along with my skincare routine. I’m looking forward to seeing how much more the results will progress the more sessions I take. I will also be recommending this to my friends as my friends have recommended it to me!
