"Part of being adventurous is experiencing accidents."

Former Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo made this statement on Tuesday as she showed her injuries to her social media followers.

"Got hit by a wakeboard," she said on Instagram Stories. "Chipped my tooth. Got some bruising and swelling on my left face."

"Still, life is good. Thank you, Lord!" she added, seemingly expressing relief that things could have easily gone worse.

Mateo is known to have an adventurous side, as seen in her previous trips. Just recently, she tried skydiving in the United States.

"Free falling into life's best moments," she said in an Instagram post, which showed her conquering the skies.

Mateo rose to fame after representing the Philippines in the 69th Miss Universe pageant, which was held in the US in May 2021.

She finished in the Top 21 of the competition, which was won by Andrea Meza of Mexico.

After her pageant stint, Mateo went on to pursue a career in local showbiz, and is slowly making her mark as an actress.
