A 23-year-old Gen Z from Las Piñas City is taking netizens down memory lane with her memorabilia that are part of every '90s kid's dream collection.

Maine Glorioso, a communications student, went viral after posting videos of her wearing '90s outfits while chilling in her room filled with nostalgic pieces, which either belong to her parents and aunties or are sourced from different stores.

Her VHS tapes, film cameras, magazines, comics, and posters of matinee idols make her heart fulfilled as a fan of the '90s era.

"Ako rin po talaga super sentimental kong tao kaya kahit 'yung simpleng bagay na mayroon ako noong bata ako, kahit para sa iba ay basura na eh gusto ko pa rin na kasama 'yun hanggang sa pagtanda ko," Glorioso, who has over 300,000 followers on TikTok, told ABS-CBN News.

Most items from her collection are related to the cast of the youth-oriented show "Gimik" and its spin-off "G-Mik," which both aired in ABS-CBN.

"Lahat ng miyembro ng magbabarkada na 'yun, pinakahinahangaan ko," Glorioso said. "Sa mga love teams, [favorite ko sina] Marvin (Agustin) and Jolina (Magdangal), at Rico Yan and Claudine (Barretto) on top."

Glorioso's favorite in her collection is the Jolina doll, a collectible fashion doll for fans of Magdangal, the queen of pop culture in the Philippines in the '90s.

Her outfits, as seen in her videos, are also inspired by Magdangal and even Nikka Valencia -- the actress from "Pare Ko," her favorite film.

For Glorioso, '90s fashion is back again and is popular in her generation.

"'Pag nakikita ko 'yung porma na ang angas tingnan, mag-uukay ako or magkakalkal ako sa kung anong meron sa cabinet namin. And madalas talaga binibigyan ako ng mga tita ko ng mga damit nila noong kabataan, pinapamana nila sa akin. And minsan 'yung mga damit pa ng daddy ko, 'yung mga loose shirts," she said.

On TikTok, Glorioso also does skits inspired by Filipino movies back then. For her, there is a difference between films in the '90s era compared to today in terms of their plot and banter lines.

"Maraming nagsasabi na ang pangit na ng pelikula ngayon, pero they're wrong," she stressed. "Buhay na buhay ang pelikulang Pilipino at hindi ito namatay. Huwag sana tayong mapagod tumangkilik ng pelikulang Pilipino, mapaluma man o bago."

Netizens who experienced the '90s era could not help but reminisce after watching Glorioso's vidoes. And now, even the new generation has started to appreciate the beauty of the said era.

"We should never forget the '90s era because it reminds us of how far we've come ngayon. And there are events that we should not forget that happened in that era," she said.
