A half-Filipina will represent Great Britain in this year's Miss Universe pageant.

Christina Chalk was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2024 last July 6, besting over 40 other candidates.

On Instagram, the Filipina-Scottish beauty queen looked back on her journey, saying it took her years to finally get the chance to be on the international pageant stage.

"Many know this wasn't my first, second, or even third attempt at Miss Universe Great Britain," she admitted. "I loved making friends for life with the most empowered women in the UK. Whilst I was proud to be 1st runner-up twice, I was relieved when I aged out... with so many ups and downs, I felt it was time to move on."

"However, when Miss Universe lifted their age restrictions, I knew there was unfinished business. I'm glad I followed my heart," she added.

Chalk went on to thank all of her supporters, including the friends she has made as a Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2024 candidate. She finished in the Top 20 of the said national pageant, which was won by Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan.

"I learned so much from you all. I am so grateful for our incredible moments," she said.

Addressing Manalo, who is now her competitor in this year's Miss Universe, she added: "I can't wait to see you in Mexico."

In her profile on Miss Universe Great Britain, Chalk was described as "a 30-year-old global citizen from Dunblane, Scotland with a knack for seizing opportunities."

"Growing up in a vibrant Scottish-Filipino household, her family nurtured her passions for dancing and singing while instilling in her a curiosity for diverse cultures," her profile read.

"On her most recent trip to the Philippines, she had the great opportunity to collaborate with the Department of Migrant Workers, highlighting the contributions of Filipinos in the UK and around the world."
