Celeste Cortesi has launched a lip care brand called Asul, named after the Filipino word for blue. Asul/Instagram 

Former Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi has ventured into entrepreneurship with the launch of her own lip care brand.

The first product under Asul, named after the Filipino word for blue, is a lip plumper that promises a fuller, healthier, and more youthful pout.

Recalling how Asul started out as "just an idea" two years ago, Cortesi took to social media to thank her team for believing in her vision.

She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who has been supportive of her product.

"Words can't describe how happy I was to see all of you appreciating and loving Asul's newest lip plumper as much as I do," the Filipino-Italian beauty queen said. 

Cortesi is known among pageant fans for representing the Philippines in Miss Universe and Miss Earth. 

She went on to dabble in local showbiz as an actress, on top of her modeling stints.
