Miss USA Sarah Rose Summers and Miss Australia Francesca Hung cleared up a "misunderstanding" involving Miss Cambodia Rern Sinat, as seen in a video by Sash Factor.

In the end, Miss Cambodia Rern Sinat didn't even need to speak in English to let Miss USA Sarah Rose Summers know what she meant.

All she did was put her thumbs up and Summers, whom many accused of acting "condescending" towards her, immediately breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank God," Summers was heard saying.

The American beauty queen has been widely criticized for her clumsy attempt sympathizing with Sinat's inability to speak in English. She was called out for her "intolerance" and has been deemed an example of "what normalized xenophobia looks like."

A video of Summers, along with Miss Australia Francesca Hung and Miss Colombia Valeria Morales, apologizing to Sinat for their remarks was uploaded by pageant site Sash Factor.

In it, Summers and Hung were seen showing Sinat a message written on their smartphone.

After reading it, Sinat gave both of them a thumbs up to apparently signal that she wasn't offended before sharing a hug.

The brouhaha over Summers and Sinat happened prior to the preliminaries, which was held Thursday night. You can check out Miss Philippines' performance below:
