MANILA -- November is unfolding to be a month of new beginnings for Bea Alonzo, with the release of her film “Unbreakable” and the opening of her first café venture.

In the past week, Dean & DeLuca Philippines has been teasing the opening of a café branch in Quezon City. On Wednesday, the café, located at Scout Tuazon corner Scout Rallos, finally welcomed its first customers.

On the same day, Alonzo revealed on Instagram that the business she had long been preparing for is the Quezon City location of Dean & DeLuca Café.

“Good old coffee. Just what I need today,” she said on Instagram, with a photo of a labeled cup of coffee. “I’ve been so excited about this new venture and I can’t wait to dine with you guys and run you through our delectable menu.”

Dean & DeLuca originated in New York as a chain of upscale grocery stores, and has since evolved to be a well known café with international locations.

In the Philippines, Dean & DeLuca's first branches were opened in Makati City and Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, so the Scout Rallos store should be good news for coffee lovers based in Metro Manila’s north.

The venture’s launch came a year after Alonzo finished her short course on baking at the Center for Culinary Arts in September 2018.
