MANILA – Art patron and former Cultural Center of the Philippines board member Teresita Ojeda Luz has passed away.

In a statement released on Friday, CCP said Luz died last April 28.

She was part of the CCP board from 1999 to 2007.

Fondly called Tessie, Luz acted in plays directed by Fr. James Reuter and helped manage the Luz Gallery in Manila.

“It is a great feeling of fondness and admiration that I have for Tessie Luz,” said former chairman of the 1995 CCP board Chingay Lagdameo.

“To me, Tessie is more than a friend. She will remain in memory as a noble patron and an icon and defender of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, a major repository of the Filipino’s cultural heritage,” she added.

Luz is survived by her husband, National Artist for Visual Arts Arturo Luz, and their three children.
