MANILA - Half a year since he revealed his battle with colon cancer, vlogger Wil Dasovich has hit a milestone in his recovery, he shared in a new entry Sunday.

In a YouTube video titled "I Survived Chemo and...", the former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate narrated the moment he was told by his doctor that he had made significant progress in his condition.

He told his viewers: "When I walked in, I was like, 'Just give me the news. I hate the whole anticipation thing.' And he was just like, 'It's gone, everything's gone.' And I just, like, shouted it out, 'I'm going to live!'"

It was in September 2017 when Dasovich started his chemotherapy, which he documented also through a vlog uploaded on YouTube.

In his latest entry, Dasovich also shared footage of him with his father, shortly before his chemotheraphy was finally terminated on its ninth cycle.

As a result of his being finished with chemotherapy, Dasovich said "the neuropathy went away."

"I'm not allergic to cold, I don't have that tingly sensation. I can finally eat room-temperature food and [drink] room-temperature water. Basically, the cold is like electricity. It's the weirdest sensation ever," he said.

While upbeat and optimistic in most of his videos, Dasovich admitted there was a time when he was confronted with a harsh realization of his mortality.

"I got into a really different type of state of mind. I've been positive throughout this whole experience, and once that happened, it was the first time I highly considered the end, and all these negative thoughts," he said, referring to a past complication in his lungs. "I just never wanted to talk about it. It freaked me out. I was just scared."

But all that's behind him Dasovich said, adding, "We're done, I feel good... I have one final step before I'm officially in remission, and it's going to be a long and hard week. But I'd say the hardes part is over, and we got through it."
