Being in the local entertainment scene for around four decades already, appearing mostly in noontime programs of ABS-CBN as a host through the years, it’s definitely good to say that Amy Perez is one of the so-called “institutions” when it comes to hosting.

She may be already in her 50s at present and talented many stars younger than her have emerged, yet she still remains a sought-after host. Aside from her unparalleled skills and natural charisma, it’s her versatility that made her admired by many. And we’re able to see that in her stint in It’s Showtime, wherein she impresses us with how she’s still able to keep pace with her gregarious and younger co-hosts, who usually ‘poke fun’ at her age.

Let’s start with that Tawag ng Tanghalan episode wherein Vice Ganda, Kim Chiu, and Vhong Navarro tagged her along in demonstrating how “modern hosting” is being done as they announced the winner for that day. From simply transferring to different locations within the studio premises, the Unkabogable Star had them lying on the floor, from which Tyang Amy, found it difficult to stand up again.

In another episode, Vice spotted her slowly walking into the studio from the backstage while draped in a shawl. Upon being exposed to the television viewers, Amy said that she just couldn’t withstand the cold inside the studio since she was then wearing an above-the-knee denim skirt.

Tyang Amy also wowed her co-hosts when she came to work in a pretty maxi flowy dress, which was reminiscent of the “daster” that our lolas, titas, and nanays used to usually wear back in the day (or even put on until present!) as their loungewear. She told them that it was a “Daster Thursday” for her, thus her chosen OOTD.

Meanwhile, in an episode of “Expecially For You”, Tyang Amy couldn’t help but reminisce about her younger days as one of the searchees mentioned that she and her ex used to go on museum dates when they were still together. Being one of the eldest members of the It’s Showtime fam, along with Ogie Alcasid who’s a few years older than her, her co-hosts teased her about being among the Filipinos to witness the construction of Intramuros.

The Unkabogable Star then caught Tyang Amy drinking water on the sidelines while everyone in the studio was vigorously dancing onstage in an episode of “RamPanalo.” Vice stopped the revelry to check on Tyang Amy, who told them to just continue what they were doing since she already experienced it in her “100 years” in showbiz.

And lastly, Vice also got interrupted when she noticed Tyang Amy seemingly quite panting while sitting among their co-hosts and watching her, Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, and Ogie interview the participants of “Expecially For You” that day. They went on to tease her, which Amy gamely took on.
