Those who are in romantic affairs with people who have children from past relationships can definitely relate to the experience of Doc Kevin, played by Ralph de Leon, as he continuously tries his best to win not just the heart of the woman he loves, Roxy (Xyriel Manabat), but also of Riley, her unico hijo, compellingly portrayed by fast-rising child star Argus Aspiras in “High Street.”

Doc Kevin may initially have a hard time getting the favor of the little kid but he’s able to eventually win him over and establish a beautiful bond with him. And the same apparently goes between them behind the camera as Ralph enthusiastically imparted five fun facts that he learned about Argus while they were working together on the set of “High Street” that will certainly make you grow fond of him in this exclusive ent.abs-cbn.com feature!

Ralph went on to express how amused he is that Argus is one of the talented “batang cute-pos” of “It’s Showtime” who showcase their skills in singing via “Karaokids” and in acting via “Showing Bulilit,”

Ralph then added how impressed he is that Argus is now also part of the long-running kiddie comedy program “Goin’ Bulilit,” which made its highly anticipated return last July. Just like many of us, he regards it as his “childhood show,” as he used to be one of its avid viewers every Sunday, of which his friends Harvey Bautista, Kobe Vidanes, and Igi Boy Flores were among its former cast.

Seeing how well-behaved he is, not to mention that he also possesses angelic looks, it’s easy for us to deduce that Argus is indeed a good kid. And Ralph affirmed it by recounting one scene they did together with Xyriel, in which Argus had to throw tantrums, brood, and whine. Since he isn’t that type of kid, as his mom also claimed, Ralph recalled how Argus got frustrated that he couldn’t figure out how to do it. Ralph further realized how an admirable boy Argus is as he witnessed how he would diligently listen to and follow the instructions of their director.

Like other kids, Argus is also a very curious kid who’s so fond of cameras. We can probably remember the few moments that he toyed with the cameras of It’s Showtime while on-air, as well as of his mom as they filmed vlogs for his YouTube channel. And Argus has brought it to High Street – his first-ever teleserye stint – as Ralph noticed how he likes checking on the screens and lenses while they’re on the set. And he finds it a “good thing” since it’s important for him to enjoy and be really interested in what he’s doing.

Lastly, Ralph imparted that Argus cannot leave the set once he’s packed up without everyone applauding him. According to him, he would go around the set after their take and would clap his hands while uttering, “Pack up na si Argus!” and they would all join him.

“That kid is amazing. He’s gonna go a long way. And I’m excited to work with him again in the future,” Ralph said.
