Fervent fans of Xyriel Manabat’s team-up with Elijah Canlas in Senior High may have been rallying for their characters Roxy and Archie to have a second chance in High Street since they have a child, but not a lot of people are probably aware that she has been in a lowkey yet blissful relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend Nathan Toledo.

It was in January 2023 when she first opened up about being in a relationship with a guy who she simply described then as a student and the same age as hers. And around five months later, she finally made their romance “Instagram-official” by posting snaps of them oozing with kilig and sweetness captured during their long rides and short trip to Baguio City. She captioned the post, “With MY spontaneous, late night taga-aya, kunsintidor, source of happiness, lifetime ride or die, SUPER BFF Pogiest boyfriend.”

Since then, both of them have been proudly flaunting one another and sharing some of their lovely moments together on social media. He has been a supportive and loving boyfriend for her, making sure that she had an awesome birthday celebration when she turned 20 last January and that she felt extra special and loved on Valentine’s Day this year. Nathan’s IG account is also filled with their beautiful moments together since they became a couple.

In an interview with PUSH last March, Xyriel imparted that she and Nat have been best friends and neighbors since they were kids. Growing up, they refrained from putting any tinge of romantic feelings in their relationship to not destroy their friendship, until a couple of years ago when he started to woo her. And it took them a long time to eliminate any awkwardness between them because they were not used to being so affectionate with one another.

While the demands of showbiz work usually take a toll on the relationships of celebrities, she divulged that Nat actually doesn’t get jealous of her onscreen partnership with Elijah. In fact, it’s she who feels that way towards him and Elijah since he has formed an amiable bond with her male Senior High castmates. They would even request his presence every time they would hang out.

Besides, Nat has been truly supportive of her acting comeback, relating that it was he who was among those who encouraged her to pursue acting again and who would show her clips of her performances that would pass by his social media newsfeed and would even repost or save them, too. Furthermore, he’s also the one who accompanies her in tapings and events, or sometimes just brings her to and fetches her from her destinations. Thus, he’s able to meet and be friends with her colleagues.
