Metro's Favorite S/S ‘25 Collections from Paris Fashion Week

<p><strong>Paris Fashion Week</strong> was as action-packed as ever. Following the successful line-up of shows in <a href="https://metro.style/fashion/runway/new-york-fashion-week-ss25-round-up/38936" target="_blank">New York</a>, <a href="https://metro.style/fashion/runway/london-fashion-week-ss25-round-up/38950" target="_blank">London</a>, and <a href="https://metro.style/fashion/runway/milan-fashion-week-ss25-round-up/38997" target="_blank">Milan</a>, the French capital lived up to its expectations. The shows in Paris can only be described as <strong>big</strong>, <strong>optimistic</strong>, and <strong>electric</strong>. </p><div><br/></div><p>Alessandro Michele made his debut as the creative director of Valentino. The show had the most looks this season, 85 looks provided a wave of nostalgia on the runway! Saint Laurent also paid homage to the past. Anthony Vaccarello sent 23 models dressed in the likeness of the late designer. The entire collection was inspired by Yves&#x27; personal wardrobe in the &#x27;70s and his early designs.</p><div><br/></div><p>While some designers honored the past, few ones chose to toast to the future. Schiaparelli made headlines this week for its ‘Future Vintage’ looks. Daniel Roseberry dabbled in ready-to-wear this season, creating timeless pieces for everyone to enjoy up until the distant future. Over at Chloé, expectations were high for Chemena Kamali after delivering a successful debut last season. For her sophomore collection, Chemena provided more boho-chic looks to covet. Olivier Rousteing created couture-level pieces for his ready-to-wear show. Heavy beading and exaggerated silhouettes proved that his techniques are ahead of his time.</p><div><br/></div><p>There’s so much to unpack from Paris Fashion Week! referenced her admiration for strong women in sports through her collections. Though luxury athletic wear is often thought of as a recent invention, Monsieur Dior’s history with sport is also worth noting.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Dior - The brand’s S/S 2025 collection takes inspiration from the House founder’s famous Amazone suit which he created for his mother in the 1950s. By 1962, Dior Sport was founded, including pieces made from Elastiss fabric that allowed for a range of movement.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Dior - Chiuri found ways to honor Monsieur Dior’s legacy by blending bodysuits styled under semi-transparent dresses, blazers paired with knee-high gladiator boots, and more.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Saint Laurent - We’re living in a man’s world but it wouldn’t be nothing without a woman—the man being Yves Saint Laurent of course! Anthony Vaccarello pays homage to the late designer by sending 23 models dressed in quintessential YSL. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Saint Laurent -  Inspired by Yves’ personal wardrobe in the ‘70s, the models strut in chic oversized suits layered with leather jackets or floor-length coats, topped with his signature frames. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Saint Laurent - The collection also took cues from the late designer’s early bohemian designs and his knack for jacquard fabrics, rich prints and texture, and flowy garbs. Talk about solid storytelling!</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Rabanne - Masculine and feminine layering along with the brand’s iconic chainmail dresses dominated the Rabanne Spring/Summer 2025 runway. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Rabanne - The star of the show was undeniably the reinterpretation of Rabanne’s “most expensive dress” from the ‘60s styled together with today’s “most expensive bag”made from gold. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Rabanne - Priced at 250,000 euros, the Golden Bag is made from 18-carat gold coins and is made to complement the retro-futuristic collection. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Balmain - Art imitates humanity at the Balmain show. Olivier Rousteing flexed his design might by combining architectural silhouettes with intricate embroidery. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Balmain - The portrait pieces required hundreds of thousands of beads. Apart from the “faces” of the collection, the show highlighted powerful silhouettes with exaggerated shoulders and angular waists. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Balmain - The runway echoed with a satisfying blend of old and new. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Chloé - “Chloé is not a passing moment; it is an eternal state of mind by instinct and optimism,” Chemena Kamali wrote in her show notes for Chloé’s Spring/Summer 2025 show. With many declaring the comeback of “boho chic” with Kamali as its steward, it’s a chance to further appreciate the dream and logic behind whimsical dressing. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Chloé - The “Freedom Collection” opened with a sheer white jumpsuit, its puffy sleeves cinched at the upper arm and its legs ballooning like pantaloons. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Chloé - The muted color palette was meant to feel sun-faded, rinsed, and worn-in while the fabrics gave the sense of floating and flying. Kamali encourages everyone to dream!</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Schiaparelli - Daniel Roseberry introduced a new fashion term this season and we’re already eating it up. The Creative Director dedicated this collection to not just his clients but for the daughters and granddaughters of this generation; he’s calling it &#x27;Future Vintage&#x27;. The type of pieces you want to automatically cop after seeing it in your mother’s closet. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Schiaparelli - Roseberry offered casual staples such as tank tops, polo dresses, button downs, and jeans—all elevated with corsetry. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Schiaparelli - We’re also swooning over the extraordinary accessories from the show. In true Schiaparelli fashion, we are bewitched. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Loewe - Jonathan Anderson is the ultimate fanboy. In fact, for his Spring/Summer 2025 collection for Loewe, the Creative Director transformed portraits of Mozart, Bach, Chopin, and Monet into a line of feathery band tees. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Loewe - Bouncy crinoline ensembles. ultra short sequined dresses, and sculptural trousers rounded out the lineup. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Loewe - The accessories were a standout as well, from the oversized loafers, the high-top sneakers called Ballet Runners, the fresh iterations of the Puzzle bag, and the new trapezoidal style called the Madrid stole the show. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Hermès - Hermès stayed true to its roots. Throughout the show, Hermès showcased a sense of minimalism that never lacked in richness.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Hermès - Elegance was portrayed through meticulously woven leathers, strategically placed cutouts, and sheer and opaque monochrome looks. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Hermès - The color palette grew from deep brown and olive neutrals to fuchsia then back to brown and grey. Hermès provided a chic carousel of looks. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Valentino - Alessandro Michele’s debut collection for Valentino was heavily inspired by Valentino’s 1970s golden age and its sophistication.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Valentino - Fitted tuxedo dresses, heavily embroidered gowns, and ruffled babydoll dresses provided a jolt of nostalgia. The collection was an explosion of ideas, all in honor of the glamorous ‘70s.  </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Valentino - There’s so much to unpack from the 85 looks that cascaded on the runway. The best way to appreciate the collection is to watch the show on repeat.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Louis Vuitton - Nicolas Ghesquière capped off his 10th anniversary celebrations at Louis Vuitton with a memorable Spring/Summer 2025 collection.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Louis Vuitton - He sent a maximalist message through 18th-century silhouettes amplified with geometric prints and asymmetrical ensembles. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Louis Vuitton - He boldly experimented with color blocking and scarf dressing. Even the accessories got a maximalist treatment.
