Yong Davalos’ ready-to-wear label deserves to be celebrated for simply being a frontrunner in sustainable and inclusive fashion.

Founded in 2019, Tayo Studio was created to address the lack of diversity and inclusivity in the local fashion industry. The brand being named Tayo, which directly translates to us or we in English, aims to inspire belongingness through clothing.

Tayo Studio answered the call for change and served as a beacon of hope for several people during the pandemic. Apart from its advocacy, the brand was established with the intention of providing jobs for people in 2020. The brand housed over 40 people to keep the business running during lockdowns and provided shelter for everyone. Since then, Tayo Studio has grown to over 130+ employees that each benefit to employee contracts and 13th month salaries.

Ever since its launch, Tayo Studio has become the go-to when it comes to thoughtfully designed pieces that fit sizes XS to 6XL. Their stylish coordinates, flattering tops and blouses, and their beautiful dresses have become coveted pieces of clothing by women of all ages.

Along with creating pieces that empower women, Tayo Studio also makes sure that the production of their clothes do not cause any harm to the environment. From the use of deadstock fabric or overstock material to making sure that everything is locally manufactured to lessen their carbon footprint, the brand has it all covered.

Since the brand believes that the future for shopping is hybrid, Tayo Studio has opened two onsite stores in Manila and Cebu to offer their customers a unique shopping experience. Filipinas can now try on the pieces in real life and peruse the brand’s wide selection of clothing.

A Tayo Studio piece retails for as low as P799. Shop online through their stores in Shopee and Lazada or visit them at the Third Level of the South Wing of SM Mall of Asia.
