ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Star Magic, has welcomed four promising singers into its growing roster of artists: Jarlo Base, Diego Gutierrez, and siblings James Philippe and Esang de Torres.

Diego Gutierrez, son of showbiz veterans Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher, and younger brother of actress Janine Gutierrez, is ready to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry. 

Coming from a family deeply rooted in showbiz, Diego acknowledged both the pressure and motivation that come with his lineage.

“I guess coming from a family of showbiz, my family has already proven a lot in this industry... Parang sila magagaling talaga sa ginagawa nila. So the biggest challenge for me is to do my best also," Gutierrez said.

He also expressed gratitude for his family’s support, adding, “I think my family is proud also kasi all of them are really also great. So I want to be great in my own name as well.”

Esang de Torres, who first rose to fame as Lea Salonga’s ‘Mini-Me’ on It’s Showtime and later as a contestant on The Voice Kids Philippines Season 2 under Team Lea, is making a comeback after a brief hiatus.

“It still feels surreal for me,” she admitted.

“Pero in a way, even if it feels surreal, I knew that this is something I enjoy doing. The reason why parang I stepped back for a while was because of the pandemic and my studies. I had to choose between you know if I were to focus on school and mahalaga rin po sa akin 'yung studying so inuna ko po siya muna,” Esang said.

Now, as she returns to the industry, she is eager to share her music with audiences once again.

“I’m really happy to be back because I know in my heart that this is what I love to do. I want to inspire others with my songs, and I feel great about this new chapter,” she added.

Joining Esang in the Star Magic family is her brother, James Philippe, who initially started as a music conductor. He now sets his sights on writing more songs and collaborating with his sister.

During the talent launch, Esang performed “Mister Maginoo,” a song composed by James Philippe, showcasing their musical synergy. The siblings are excited about the possibilities of working together and making their mark in the industry.

Singer-songwriter and music producer Jarlo Base is also embracing the spotlight under Star Magic.

While he aims to focus on his singing career, Jarlo is also open to exploring acting opportunities.

“Maybe I can start with musicals so there’s still something close to my heart, which is music, then, let’s see where that takes me," he shared.
