Ed Sheeran recently opened up about his favorite memory with longtime friend Taylor Swift, highlighting the time they spent together during her Red Tour as particularly special.

In an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer recalled the memorable period when both he and Taylor were living in Nashville and touring together.

"The period of time that I was on the Red Tour would have been, I lived in Nashville and she lived in Nashville and we used to fly to and from the gigs together," he shared.

Ed added that their close friendship was solidified during that stretch, as they saw each other almost daily. "I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months, so I think that period of time [was my favorite]," he remarked.

Though their time together is less frequent now, Ed relayed they still make time for meaningful catch-ups.

"I probably see her like four times a year and we do what I said — like instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit-down, six-hour catchups and I think that's a really nice way to do it," Ed said.  

Taylor's Red Tour kicked off in Omaha, Nebraska, on March 13, 2013, and wrapped up in Singapore on June 12, 2014. The tour attracted 1.7 million attendees and grossed $150.2 million, becoming the highest-grossing country tour of all time at the time of its completion.

Back in November 2021, Taylor unveiled a "from the vault" collaboration with Ed titled "The Run," as part of Red (Taylor's Version).

In February 2022, Ed released a remix of his song "The Joker and the Queen" featuring Taylor.

The two first teamed up in 2013 for Taylor's single "Everything Has Changed."

Ed recently released his new single "Azizam" from his upcoming album Play.

"My idea was because the album is so broad, I didn’t want to just be like, ‘Here’s the single. Here’s the album,’ so there’s music coming every sort of two, three weeks," he shared on what fans can expect from his new record.

"So there’s 'Azizam' now, there’s a song called 'Old Phone' that comes out in a couple of weeks, and then after that there’s another song coming."
