MANILA -- Star Music’s resident producer-songwriter Jonathan Manalo is ranked 140th among the top music producers in the world as of March 5, with more than eight billion streams from all the songs he has produced in his 24-year career.

From his first hit "Tara Tena" to BINI’s "Blooming," Manalo is the only Filipino producer included in the top 150 music producers listed by Los Angeles-based platform Muso.AI, whose goal is to help music professionals get the recognition and payment they deserve.

“Muso tracks all the streams of artists, musicians, producers, songwriters globally. It tracks the consumption, the digital consumption of music of all-time. And the songs that are associated with me as producer, and as songwriter accumulated a total of 8 billion plus. It is updated every week like the Billboard charts,” said Manalo.

“I am humbled to be the only Filipino in the Top 150 list. I hope 'yung ginagawa ko will encourage more Filipino writers, artists to create, create and create. Kasi sabi ko nga, itong period na ito we’re at an all time high. Super prolific lahat ng young ones, labas lang tayo nang labas ng music,” he added.

Aside from the feat, Manalo’s songs will also be taking center stage in the upcoming musical titled "Delia D," whose story was written by TV director Dolly Dulu.

The idea to have a musical inspired by Manalo’s music catalogue began when he and Dulu collaborated for Dreamscape Entertainment’s musical-serye "Lyric and Beat."

The musical will kick off on April 25 at the Newport World Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.

Some of the songs included in the musical are "Pagbigyang Muli," "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw," "Boom Panes," "Strings," "Patuloy ang Pangarap," "Blooming," "Rampa," and more. Manalo also wrote a few original songs that will premiere in the show.

In the most recent updated list from the Muso.AI app, Taylor Swift ranked first, while other notable music producers in the list were Jack Antonoff, Max Martin, Quincy Jones, Pharell Williams, David Foster.
