Singer-songwriter TJ Monterde showed his support for his wife, KZ Tandingan, as she released her new self-written song, "Nagmamahal Lang Ako."

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, TJ expressed how proud he is of KZ for sharing more of her original songs.

“I'm very, very proud of KZ kasi I've always encouraged her to write originals and this is one. Lagi kong sinasabi, and ang totoo lang kasi, sobrang galing ni KZ na songwriter. Masasabi ko rin talagang magaling din siyang singer. Yung galing niya na songwriter, andun din talaga. Wala lang siyang tiwala sa sarili niya,” TJ shared.

He continued to encourage KZ to share her music, saying, “Like lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya, release your own original sound, original music kasi you need to share that talent with people and this is one of them.”

TJ attended KZ’s advanced listening party and short film viewing. During the event, the couple sat next to each other, with KZ getting emotional while watching the short film inspired by her song.

“Matagal ko nang narinig 'tong song na 'to and very happy ako. Kanina, sobrang kinakabahan siya (KZ). Nafeel ko kasi sobrang higpit nung (hawak) niya sa akin habang nag-play yung song,” TJ shared.

He then expressed, “Sobrang, sobrang, sobrang proud ako sa kanya. Marami pa 'yan. Just one of many and pagdating sa topic na 'to, she's really very passionate about this. And I'm just here to support her.”

“Very happy ako lang talaga na ginawa niya 'to. At wala, sobrang proud lang ako ngayon na finally binuksan niya na yung doors niya to write more original music for herself.”

Meanwhile, TJ expressed his gratitude to fans as his Sarili Nating Mundo regional and international tour continued to sell out after a successful kick-off earlier in February.

“Hanggang ngayon, concert high pa rin ako,” he expressed. 

“One week na yung nakalipas or ten days na yung nakalipas siguro, but I'm still right there. Cloud nine pa rin, and excited ako kasi hanggang ngayon, originally, we were supposed to tour five cities, world tour, pero hanggang ngayon, unti-unti nadagdagan everyday yung mga cities namin,” he added.

TJ is also excited to perform in more cities locally and internationally alongside KZ.

“Mas maraming gustong puntahan pa namin. Na-extend yung tour namin. Very happy to share the concert experience with everybody and share more stories to everybody in the U.S. and Canada. But most importantly, I'm very happy kasi si KZ yung special guest ko, and magkasama kami sa tour na 'to” he remarked.

Additionally, TJ revealed his plans to release three special songs from his concert, along with an upcoming EP this year.

“I'm gonna be releasing the songs na kinanta ko sa 3-day concert, yung 'Unang Halik,' 'Aurora,' 'Silver.' Kailangan lang namin ayusin yung recording and after we release those three songs, well, most probably we're gonna be releasing an EP for that,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN.
