Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook and Nana are joining forces for an upcoming K-drama about risqué relationships during South Korea's Joseon dynasty, Netflix said Thursday.

In a press release, the streaming giant confirmed the production of the series with the working title "Scandals."

The series is based on the 2003 Korean film "Untold Scandal," which reimagined the promiscuous world of the French novel "Dangerous Liaisons" by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos in the context of the Joseon era.

"'Scandals' brings to life a world where love and temptation were taboo. Set in a time when harboring desires was forbidden, the series depicts characters who challenge the strict order of society and engage in a risqué game of love and temptation," Netflix said.

In the series, Ye-jin, best known for the 2019 drama "Crash Landing on You," plays Lady Cho, a woman who defies the limitations placed on women of her time. She proposes a "temptation game" to her admirer, Cho Won.

Chang-wook portrays Cho Won, the greatest playboy in Joseon who uses everything in his power to win Lady Cho's heart and their wager.

Meanwhile, the K-pop star-turned-actress Nana, who starred in "Mask Girl," transforms into Hui-yeon, a widow who vowed to remain chaste but becomes attracted to Cho Won.

Netflix has yet to reveal the premiere date for "Scandals."
