South Korean heartthrob Nam Joo-hyuk is set to star alongside Roh Yoon-seo and Cho Seung-woo in a Netflix series that combines period drama with supernatural elements, the streaming platform announced Thursday.

In a press statement, Netflix confirmed the production of the series with the working title "East Palace," written by Kwon So-ra and Seo Jea-won of "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" and directed by Choi Jung-kyu of "The Devil Judge."

"East Palace" tells the story of Gu-cheon (played by Joo-hyuk), who can traverse the world of ghosts and defeat them with his sword. He ventures into a cursed palace to investigate strange occurrences, only to uncover a dark world beyond his imagination.

Cho Seung-wooGu-cheon is joined by Saeng-gang (Yoon-seo), a court lady gifted with the ability to hear spirits. Together, the duo is tasked by the king (Seung-woo) to solve the palace's mystery.
