For his birthday and 10th anniversary concert, the country’s Prince of Soul Jason Dy returned to where it all began — at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre where he was hailed as the winner of the second season of The Voice Philippines.

Jason was beaming with gratitude as his loyal supporters and closest friends in the entertainment industry came together to celebrate his decade-long journey. Here are some highlights that truly captivated the crowd:

Jason brought nostalgia with ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin’

Jason took a trip down memory lane as he performed two of songs that marked key events in his life: “Stay With Me” and “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.” The first song was his audition piece at a singing competition while the second song earned him the title and a ticket to the industry.

“It’s so good to be back at this very stage. This is where it all started," he said. "If you guys could still remember, this is where we did the finale of The Voice of the Philippines. Bumabalik sa akin ‘yung nostalgia, ‘yung mga memories, ‘yung kaba."

Jason paid an emotional tribute to his mother

Jason's mom, Malou Dy, whom he described as his “number one fan,” flew from the United States just to attend his anniversary concert.

To show his appreciation, he dedicated a heartfelt performance of “This I Promise You” to her. He shed a few tears in the middle of his performance, while his mom’s emotional reaction was also caught on camera.

“My mom has been the bedrock of my life, and she has always been there. Magkasangga kami niyan, partners kami niyan ni mama lagi,” he said.

Jason entered his rapper era

The R&B balladeer has once again proved his versatility as a singer, showcasing his hidden potential as a rapper.

Jason and his guest artist KZ Tandingan wowed the crowd with their duet performances of rap songs “Anxiety” and “Denial is a River.”

At the end of their performance, KZ expressed how proud she was for Jason’s new milestone. “What I’m most grateful for is you’re one of my bestest friends in this industry kung saan sobrang hirap makahanap ng mga tao na talagang i-che-cherish ka at magiging totoo sayo. And so, I am really grateful that you allowed me to be part of your life, and that I get to see you shine and fly high tonight,” she said.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid made a surprise appearance

Asia’s Songbird Regine Valesquez-Alcasid pumped up the crowd with her surprise guest appearance at Jason’s anniversary concert.

Regine and Jason sang a duet of the OPM classic “Hanggang Ngayon,” which received applause from the audience.

“I just wanna congratulate you on your 10th year anniversary, and I’m so happy to be part of the celebration. This is just the beginning for you, they’ll be more, and we are expecting more of this,” Regine told Jason.

Jason’s closest friends joined forces at the concert

Queen of R&B Kyla, who also performed “I’m Officially Missing You" with Jason, honored him in a heartfelt message.

“I am happy that you exist because you’re so talented, and the world is so much better with around kasi you’re such a good person, a good person. Thank you for your music, Thank you for your existence. Thank you for your talent that you happily share with everyone,” Kyla told Jason.

Meanwhile, TJ Monterde’s presence made the crowd go wild as he performed his hit “Palagi” with Jason and the rest of their friends.
