From newsroom to red carpet: News personalities grace ABS-CBN Ball 2025

Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the newsroom, news personalities proved that they can also be red carpet-ready as they attended the ABS-CBN Ball 2025.  

ABS-CBN News Head Francis Toral walked the red carpet in her green and black outfit, along with TV Patrol Anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo, who was glowing in her yellow gown.  

ANC and TV Patrol Express Anchor Denice Dinsay and reporter RG Cruz came as a pair. Denice was wearing a floral gown while RG was in a classic black tuxedo.  

Known for covering huge pageants like the Miss Universe, Dyan Castillejo came prepared in her stunning and shimmering ball gown with floral embroidery, made by Filipino designer Val Taguba. 

ABS-CBN chief of reporters Jeff Canoy was also present at the event, along with Zen Hernandez and Adrian Ayalin. Jeff and Adrian wore traditional black suits while Zen was dazzling in her pink gown.  

Veteran broadcasters Ron Cruz and Karmina Constantino were partners as they walked the red carpet.  

Meanwhile, Karen Davila, one of the TV Patrol anchors, exuded elegance and sophistication with her olive-green gown.  

In an Instagram post, the veteran broadcaster and vlogger posted her photos that were taken prior to entering the ball.  

“Spring is here. Happily entering into the lightness of being,” she wrote in the caption.  

Her co-anchor, Bernadette, also shared a short video on Instagram, featuring clips from her ABS-CBN Ball experience.  

In her commentary, Bianca Gonzalez complimented the news personalities as they transitioned from their usual corporate attire to their elegant outfits. 

“We usually see our news personalities in more serious, corporate attire or even on the field, but now they get to kick back, relax and enjoy a glamorous moment,” Bianca said.  

The Pinoy Big Brother host shared her personal comments on Bernadette and Dyan’s looks for the night.  

“Actually, I saw Ate B kanina, she was trying out a few gowns in Carolina Herrera. She tried a red, printed, but I guess she went for this sunshine kasi totoo namang ‘yan din ang kanyang personality,” she shared.  

Talking about Dyan’s look and her active coverage of beauty pageants, Bianca said: “She’s been taking notes, obviously taking notes with the choice of her gown tonight.”

MJ Felipe and Gretchen Fullido provided the viewers with real-time updates about their favorite stars as they walked the red carpet.

Looking regal in his green-colored tuxedo, MJ was stationed before the stars hit the red carpet and was the first interview stop for many stars like Coco Martin and Julia Montes, Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, Vice Ganda, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, Charo Santos, and more. This helped set the vibe for the evening with the stars sharing details about their looks for the night, upcoming projects, and what it means to be a Kapamilya.

Sharon Cuneta also made a stop and expressed how excited she was to be attending her first ABS-CBN Ball.

Fully glammed and looking stunning in her yellow gown, Gretchen also did interviews with stars at the end of the red carpet before they entered the ballroom.

Migs Bustos was also present at the event. Sharing his own experience on Instagram, he expressed: “Just a fun night, laid back but all glammed up at the ABS-CBN Ball.”

ABS-CBN Ball made a comeback after it went on hiatus last year. The event’s proceeds will go to the projects of ABS-CBN foundation.
