South Korean authorities have detained a Chinese woman for allegedly attempting to break into the home of BTS member Jungkook on the same day the K-pop megastar was discharged from the military, according to reports.

The woman was apprehended late Wednesday for attempted trespassing after repeatedly trying to enter the passcode at the front door of Jungkook's home in Seoul's Yongsan district, local media such as the Korea Herald and Korea JoongAng Daily reported on Thursday, citing the police.

The woman, who was in her 30s, reportedly told officers that she came to Korea to see the "Standing Next to You" hitmaker after his release from the military.

Jungkook and his bandmate Jimin were released early Wednesday from the military after completing their service, which is mandatory for all able-bodied South Korean men under the age of 30.
