Rachel Alejandro married longtime love Carlos Santamaria after a long-distance relationship in a beautiful wedding in Boracay in 2011. On April 9, the 50-year-old singer and actress marked another milestone in their relationship as they celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.

In her latest Instagram post, the Nasaan Si Hesus actress wrote, “They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. And admittedly, it’s my fault that it seems like most wedding anniversaries we have spent apart so there has been a whole lot of absence! But you know what also grows fondness? Being reliable, trustworthy, and respectful. Thank you for always being understanding and for making me feel appreciated and valued. I can’t wait to come home very soon, my most favorite person in the whole world! I love you more on our 14th year than ever before, guapo. Happy Anniversary! 🐭❤️🐱”

During a hiking trip for her husband’s birthday last year, Rachel penned a loving post for her non-showbiz partner. She wrote, “Feliz cumpleaños al amor de mi vida ❤️, Carlos. Looking forward to as many more years as I can get of traveling the world together, sitting on the couch doing nothing or watching our favorite shows or endlessly arguing about politics (with me ending up getting riled up and crying 😝). Thank you for loving and eating anything I cook for you and always making me feel secure, valued and appreciated. I’m sorry that I get greedier about our time together as the years go by. More, more, more! 😈 Happy Birthday, Hun. 🎂🎉”

In between performing in concerts all over the US, Rachel spends time with her husband, going on trips and watching other performers on stage. In one post last year, she shared, “We’re huge fans of comedian Trevor Noah. He’s one of my crushes! 😍 He kept us company and made us laugh as the host of The Daily Show especially during the dark days of the pandemic. We’ve been missing him since he left the show years ago. Happy to catch him talking about his new book at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan.”

Last year, Rachel talked to PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview about making her decision to not have children.

“It’s not something na puwede mo iplano eh. I think dumadating talaga sa buhay natin. Some people find someone that they want to live the rest of their lives with at an early age. Like my parents got married at 19 yata eh. So I would say, you’re still growing up. You’re basically a kid. So ako, okay na okay sa akin yung ginawa ko na I got married in my late 30s. Although I think hindi ideal yun for people who want to start a family. Kasi if you want to start a family, I think good idea to start in your early 30s at the most, para if you intend to have a few kids sabi nga nila, sabi sa akin ng OB-GYN optimum age for childbirth is hanggang 36 lang (laughs). I didn’t have kids anymore. Nagsara na ang karinderya as they say. I’m happy naman with my decision kasi I was older na and more mature.”
