Julia Montes shared the story behind her food business venture, Take Out.

In a video uploaded by Coco Martin - CCM Film Productions on YouTube, the actress shared that cooking has always been her passion since her younger days.

"Siguro kilala naman kami ng tao na talagang mahilig kami kumain especially ako since natuto ako magluto, parang iyon na 'yung love language ko sa family so parang naisipan namin, bakit hindi kaya 'yung niluluto or ginagawa ko i-share ko naman sa tao," she said.

Julia relayed that through Take Out, she aims to provide food for those who are working with tight schedules.

"That's why nabuo rin sa Take Out kasi sometimes sa trabaho, pagpuyat sa taping, pag-uwi mo, wala ka ng time to prepare, kasi ang hirap naman talaga mag-prepare ng isang food or ng isang recipe para sa family mo [if] galing ka sa trabaho," she said.

Julia described Take Out's concept as a venture that offers "restaurant quality food at the comfort of your own home."

"Tayong mga Pilipino kilala tayo na nagsasama-sama sa hapagkainina so 'yun talaga 'yung goal ko na mahian sa tao 'yung Take Out," she highlighted.

Julia started the business in the middle of 2024 and built it alongside her mentor, chef Allan Mertola, or chef A.

"Nag-start lang 'yan sa binista niya (referring to her mentor) lang kami, nagusap-usap tapos gusto ko ng ganito, gusto ko i-try mag-business ng food, papaano ba. From usapan to R&D (research and development), napa-practice kami ng recipes na gagawin namin if ever na magbi-business, and eventually nagdere-derecho na and ito na 2025 Take Out," she said.

She shared that her family, especially her grandmother, had always wanted to build a food business.

"Actually, sa buong family talaga kasi laging topic namin what if mag-business na especially si lola. Kilala si lola Tindeng na mahilig din magluto so pangarap ng buong family na magkaroon ng negosyo na connected sa food and then napag-usapan nga na what if," she relayed.

With Take Out, they decided to start with a commissary first, providing food orders before jumping into the restaurant business.

"Siyempre natatakot din kami mag-start ng isang malaking restaurant so nag-stat muna kami sa commissary muna tapos magca-cater kami sa food carts, mga events, food delivery. So one at a time, baby steps muna," she stated.
